Waiting to depart auckland in the QF lounge, Just tried to digest the "burger". Even my cast iron constitution cannot deal with it, gave up after 2 bites. The salads look nice though. since we are delayed by an hour will just have to,sit back and have another Heineken.

Screw the food. Any lounge that has both Bulmers and L&P in the fridge for the taking gets my vote :D

(First side - not sure if it's the same in the Business side)

I usually grab some salad and a couple of sandwiches when I'm in there - I've never tried the hot food. I think it was party pies or something similar when in there two weeks ago.

I have never seen burgers before at AKL in either business or first lounges. Must be something new. For hot food all I have seen are a variety of party pies. Also plenty of cold sandwiches and wraps.

Also burgers seem an unusual choice for a airport lounge. Not the sort of food that can be kept warm easily over a long time period. Were they heated or cold?

Is this the First or Business lounge?

Business. ......... Unfortunately.

Actually it's the second time I have seen them, didn't try them first time round. They are set up as follows, big soft buns with flour dusting on the outside. In the Bain Marie a selection of ( what looks to me like) packet frozen meat patties, some sliced tomato and a bowl of rather dubious cooked onions, you create your own masterpiece form this.
Not a big point score from me
+ 1 had some of the Kumera soup, she said that was a bit strange as well.
But as mentioned earlier the salad selection and cheese boards looked and tasted quite nice.
Flight to Bne was delayed due to a delay from a connection from Sin. Once in the air all seemed quite good, nice meal, very friendly service, great staff in J cabin.
the weather in Bne was not flash so in addition to battling headwinds we spent another 30 minutes or so in a holding pattern while the various flights made their take off and landings in good order. So arrived 2 hours later than scheduled.
