QF International First lounge access as a near Platinum

This is probably a long shot, but has anybody had any luck with getting into the SYD Qantas International First lounge as a near platinum?

I'll make WP after my next flight (I'm just 60 SCs short - next flight is 80SCs), but instead of heading for the Business lounge, I am considering trying my luck and seeing if the desk staff at the First lounge will bend the rules a bit and let me in.

I've already got enough flights already booked for 2017 to retain Platinum as well, in case that might figure into discretionary decision making.

Should I give it a go, or am I wasting my time?

Based on experiences reported to date, you won't gain admission and it may be a bit embarrassing for both yourself and the lounge person when you are refused.

You probably won't get past the bouncers on the entrance. But even if you manage to get to the reception I would imagine the walk of shame will be the next course of action. Or perhaps that is the escalator of shame?

Make sure you allow yourself enough time for 'researching' all aspects of the lounge. Enjoy your first visit as a WP

No the escalator takes you to entrance of FLounge. Meet and satisfy lounge dragon before ascending another escalator next to wall garden. Walk of Shame on same level but down the end to the J lounge.

Just make sure you research it before your first visit. Dont visit the F Lounge and behave like its your first time. An Air of familiarity!!!

You can of course FaceCarp your location when outside the FLounge!

Don't forget to check the lounge meets guide to see if anyone might be able to guest you in to F lounge that day, even if you are 'near platinum' or as I believe QF would describe it, 'gold'
