Hi I'm a new poster on the block. I have a dumb question. Since when do you hurry to grab the expensive fares when there's bargains on offer?

Searching for cheap fares on QF and found the blinking "hurry" proposing I take the last seats at the most expensive fares  Hard to believe most of the seats are the cheap ones but I could be wrong.

I resisted the marketing and went for the cheap fare instead - haven't seen BNE-WEI for $375 return before... cheers skip

Yes, thats rather funny, i guess it could be true a lot of people buy the full fares and of course you cant sell all full fares since people can change date/time so easily.

Even so it is strange to see :)

The "Hurry" flag just indicates that there are less than 5 seats left in that fare class. The QF booking system obviously doesn't employ any clever logic to present a "common sense" picture to the end user.

The Hurry feature does not just apply to expensive fares, it applies to all classes as Siegfried has pointed out. Most commonly I have seen it on the Red E deals.

Sometimes I have trouble believing the QF booking engine is all that dumb. Just late last week I was booking a citiflyer flight about 4 hours prior to departure. Filled in all my details, hit 'submit' and an error message came up telling me to start over.

So I started over immediately and guess what? The price had jumped up. And there was no flashing 'hurry' warning either. Grrrr....!
