Note that I have found that the left side of teh aircraft is often more full than the right side. People seem to automatically start thinking about ABC before they think about HJK.
By way of example, on my MEL-LHR QF29 flight a few weeks ago, the F cabin had 11 out of 14 seats filled. The empty seats were 2F, 3F and 4F. All seats on the A/E side were filled. All three spare seats were on the right side.
