Hi all,
A general gripe...wife got charged $241 excess on the way home from india....nothing much that can be done about that....except I just requested (from my trave agent) two adults a child and infant business class to the UK in July...with BA!
So I figure we are about even now
Tried BA prem econ on a code share so keen to try the next level up.
All the best.
Base.

OK.

I think Qantas' new rules on excess baggage fees only came in very recently, so that's probably why you were charged so much, as mentioned here.

What were you carrying to garner that much in excess fees?

I thought BA had about comparable if not more cough procedures and stipulations on checked baggage.

But anyway, such is.

BA allows 3 pieces of max 23Kg in business class vs 30Kg on QF. 69kg vs 30Kg

International Excess fess have always high. At $35 per Kg, it doesn't take much to get to that level of fees

Aaaah...makes sense now. Thanks.

That is generous in the guise of QF. Having said that, I have heard that BA can get tight when it comes to weight restrictions, but 3 pieces of 23kg is pretty generous as is.
