No points/status on charters either.

And I wonder what they are doing with the aircraft during that time. Will they fly it back empty, or are there some other reasons why it needs to be up in HKG?

I suspect its making use of a plane that would otherwise be dead heading, given CNY is Jan 23, so its likely to return full of pax!

Is this a package deal or just simply flights? This as a package deal wouldn't be too bad, but if it's just flights to me this seems quite expensive, esp considering it's fixed dates only a B737 and no FF points. Besides QF have a deal to HKG from SYD which equates to roughly $800 return on an A330 \ B747 or A380, and it's on dates of your choosing... (plus you'd earn FF points)

Its a good deal if you are in DRW, when you factor in the positioning costs to get to the other destinations !
