Hi all,

On Friday night I flew bne to per on a qf A330, then per to syd this afternoon also on a A330, for both flights I was seated in about row 50. The cabin seemed to be very cold, much colder than on a 767. Just wondering if this is a back of the plane thing, or if the cabin temp on the airbus is just colder by default than the Boeing.

Sounds like just the way I like it - colder the better. If pax in the cabin aren't reaching for the blankets then it's far too warm.

Having said that, I also sleep in a room with no heating and just a light blanket when it's -7 outside :)

An FA on the way to Jakarta whom I was chatting with one time told me the floor at the back of the A330 was so cold, maintenance had fitted floor heaters. I don't know it this s true, but I remember the 30 or so minutes I chatted with him, my feet were cold.

And I thought I was the only one like that (the idea of an electric blanket is unforgivable!)

never noticed the A330's being colder than any other type. Of course you can always ask the FA's to turn the heating up if it is too cold, as they don't always notice such things.

I find most aircraft cabins cold and wear some sort of jacket most times.

I'm thinking the cabin crew will not be impressed if I take my life jacket from under my seat (sadly I fly mostly in y) and put on because I'm cold...

Am I the weird one out then? I'm always too warm in a plane. Definitely haven't worn anything more than trousers and a T-shirt in any of my recent travels. Have never used a blanket on board either.

Just explain that your using the flashing light as your own personal heater, I'm sure they'll understand. :D

See how long it is before they realise that LED's don't generate heat...

I'm sure the plane would still be much warmer than outside the aircraft (at altitude) ;)

I agree. It's better to try and keep warm on a plane than to try and cool yourself down.

EY keep their cabins uncomfortably warm and it's quite annoying!

Im not sure about A330s but I have been on an QF A380 which IMO was beyond cold (and I agree with the other posters here - the colder the better). As drinks service came round I mentioned this to the FA who agreed and simply turned the heat up about 5 minutes later!

I find the same with BA. According to some other sites, this is a common issue on BA. Have never had this problem on QF.

Of course, on an A330, the pitot tubes could be playing up! :p

I found TG hot as well.

As others have said, l'd rather have it cold and try to warm up, than too hot and try to cool down.

Agreed. There is no issue in adjusting the temperature and it is always going to be a battle between those who want it cold and those who want it hot. If you don't ask they will never know that it is (from your perspective) wrong and so will not fix it.
