G´day all, just a fairly simple question. I am based overseas and this year all my QF metal flights are purchased as other carrier codeshares. So to retain my status I need to do a couple of QF qualifying flights. (Have only done 2 of the 4 required). My only interest is that they qualify as QF sectors, dont need SC or miles.

I am in Brisbane for a few days as thouught I might just do a quick return trip ex BNE. The quickest one I can see is to pop up to Bundaberg on QF2326 and return on QF2327. Given the arrival departure times (arrive BDB 1310hrs, depart there 1335hrs), can I do this?

Will they let me jump off at Bundaberg and immediately reboard?

I could get the QF2329 back at 1620hrs, but am unsure what I could possibly find to do in Bundy for a couple of hours. I have lived in Gympie so I already know backwaters :)

Any advice much appreciated!

Many of us have done similar in the name of status - provided you are on the same plane up and back it shouldn't be a problem.

BDB, ROK or GLT would all work as they often just turn around the plane, ROK and GLT do have a club to ease any waiting strain.

Thanks markis10 and mannej. Decided to take the leap, but in the end the Qantas booking engine wouldn´t allow it - less than the ¨40 minute mínimum connection time¨ :/

Unless anyone knows how to get around that, will probably just do trip to Gladstone who have zillions more flights, and take the opportunity to get to know a new airport and lounge.

You may want to have checked-in for the return leg prior to the outward journey. Check-in may have closed by the time you land in BDB.

Being a status run, most just do it online 24 hours before.

And don't forget to buy a $50 gift voucher for each trip. They come through in a couple of minutes and mean you don't pay credit card fees for the booking(s).

And again more good advice!

It's always the same plane so you won't miss it if the first flight is late.
