scibo10 how old are your parents, do they look frail, would one like a wheelchair ride around airport? Just kidding:)

Oldish, but not frail. But very good suggestion nonetheless. :)

No luck with the anniversary date either, as it's in December. Looks like I may have to try the polite ask and big smile method, and coach my mum into looking like a nice sweet old lady who will be left in a busy airport all by herself if she can't get in ;)

just wondering if anyone would be kind enough to spare me a complimentary invitation, i have 1 for myself for a trip to nz but my partner is also coming along and would like to take her in...

i'm only a silver member (about 100 sc points off gold) and doubt i will reach gold by nz time in may

thanks in advance!

Welcome to AFF skeeo!

Maybe a SC run might be worth doing, dependent upon your financial situation and whether you would consider the cost worth it for the lounge access.

Do you do much international travel or is it mainly domestic?

i mainly do domestic for work and will definitely make gold and possibly platinum by the time i get assessed at the end of november

we have a fair few trips scheduled for after may but not enough before my nz trip to push me up to gold

one thing that does annoy me is i had a couple of non-work trips which i paid for but didn't end up getting on around christmas time, i thought i should have got status credits for those 2 legs just because i paid for them and never got a refund :/

another question, once i hit a level, do i get 12 months on that level before i get reassessed?

e.g. Additional Status credits required by 30 Nov 2009 to attain Gold: 100

so say i make gold in june and dont fly anymore, will i stay on gold for 12 months before they take it away

Ah, I see. I misunderstood your question then, it seems.

BTW, being such a new member unless you strike it lucky you're v. unlikely IME to be offered a free QP pass; unfortunately that's just the way it goes!

Yes. If you attain Gold in June you will have Gold status until 30 Nov 2010. If you then attained Gold again on 1 Dec 2009 you will have Gold status until 30 Nov 2011.

hi,

We are flying in May and would love your May passes. When I get silver renewed at end of August I could send you mine then - if thats acceptable? From memory last years were due to expire november, shame i didnt think to come here..

thanks..

Being the wonderful son that I am, I am accompanying my parents on a trip to the US in August '09. I have QC membership, and have silver status. I would love to get both my parents into the Sydney lounge.

Has anyone had any luck getting 2 guests into the lounge without a qc pass? If not, boy don't I have a hard decision!!

Hi scibo, it depends on who is/are manning the desk at the time. It worked for me a couple of times before when I took my parents (in their 50s) to the SYD and MEL lounges.

Also, from memory of reading another thread, it might work if you're able to get someone (travelling on his/her own) at the entrance of the lounge.
