I wonder which lounge QR will be using at MEL starting October 30. The MEL-DOH flight (QR31) leaves at 11:55 PM, that's more than 5 hours after the closure of QF J lounge. I doubt they will keep sending their PAX to NZ lounge. Maybe the CX lounge, but it's so tiny!

They may well continue to use NZ lounge, it's not unheard of for airlines to use non-alliance partner contracted lounges, even where such a lounge is available (for example CX uses NZ lounge in AKL). Also, there's the MH lounge that serves a midnight departure as another option. MEL has 3 oneworld J lounges (and 3 star alliance lounges too)! (OT, but a QF WP departing on QF9 could do a lounge crawl taking in 5 different lounges).

As QF have no direct arrangement with QR there's no reason QR fares would show up on the QF site.
Eg. QF don't show all the CX fares to HKG, only flights ex-HKG they code share on.

Not on the QFF site but some flights are available on ba.com
QF did say at the lunch event last month that they aim to have QR flights available 'at launch' so lets keep our fingers crossed they load them onto qantas.com on the 30th of October

Miles earning will not be available till they join at which time what fares earn what will be announced, you wont earn anything crediting to them on an EK operated flight.

Well, I just looked and can book SIN-DOH and HKG-DOH but not MEL-DOH for October 6, 2014, and only in economy. I reckon that's odd. I wonder if things will change from tomorrow or Thursday, or if that's all there'll be online. Might have to call up to get more availability? (There's certainly availability via BA.com.)
