Travelling to UK & Europe March-April 2006 using QANTAS Frequent flyer points. No trouble obtaining seats Sydney-London late March. Available seats London-Sydney after April 3 are non existant though the booking dates are open up to April 30. Luckily family friend had connections at British Airways & was able to obtain return flight with them. Had a quick look at Sydney-New York, same story!
Would QANTAS be holding back seats pre May 25?

From what I understand, Qantas may not release any more points seats in First and Business before the change on 25 May.

If you are a platinum FF you can request, otherwise you are stuffed

Typical Qantas

Well golly gosh, if i were qantas I would block them too! You can do one-way awards, or ROUND THE WORLD, use BA, or CX to europe remember!

You are not limited to QF... and be a little more flexible on your arrival city from LHR... try melboune..or brisbane... a $100 red-e-deal is worth it no?

For the first time I will come to the defence of qantas.I gave up flying with them 4 to 5 years ago so have no status although a life member of qantas club.Problem was I had 500000 qf points. So on friday 13th rang to see if I could get 2 round the world J tickets.Didnt fancy my chances with posters on various forums.
Surprise 30 minutes later had my tickets on preferred itinerary and with the dates I preferred.Only changes were world traveller plus on ba syd-bkk and 1 day later than planned lax-bne.Well done linda I was impressed with your service.Big geoff owes you a bonus.May even go back.

So why did you give up on them 4-5 years ago?
