We are looking for flights for 25/9/15 SYD to NRT , return 6/10/15 HKG to SYD. The price for J class, both non stop, on QF website $5620. Expedia is $4335, same flight No's.
Can't understand the big difference in price.
Does someone know why? Is it because QF does not want to sell tickets direct? Thanks for your replies in advance:confused::eek:

i can't explain why! I'm actually getting $4284 from Expedia!

even worse is that the QF site is currently returning HKG-MEL-SYD, with no option to fly HKG-SYD non-stop (even under the 'other options' box). The expedia site puts you on the non-stop, for a lot less.

I think QF has a price guarantee though. They'll match the expedia price and give you 1000 FF points each!

ITA Matrix is showing $4,335 while Zuji has it for $4,198.51 but I think that's before their booking fees

Are you cruising between Tokyo and Hong Kong? If not, how are you getting between the two cities?

I would also price a return J class fare SYD/HKG/SYD then look at a sector fare HKG/NRT to see if that's any cheaper. Do you have any QF frequent flyer points you could use for a sector HKG/NRT on CX as a partner award?

Yes we are cruising. Just trying direct flights to save time waiting in airports. We can always book via Expedia or other travel sites as most are offering the lower price. CX is on the pricy side at the moment. Our issue is why QF is selling at such an inflated price.
