QANTAS Status Match?

Does anyone think QANTAS will ever do status match with VA?

I went across to VA when they offered status match and ended up staying. I went over as a gold, but quickly moved up to platinum with VA. Since the move, my QF has dropped to silver and will probably go lower this year..

Unfortunately, I still have plenty of flights ahead this year and I have already qualified for platinum with VA again.. I do tend to book last minute and often have to get flex fares with good SC which has helped with quick re-qualifying..

I may do some more flights with QF (depending upon flight availability), but my preference is VA due to the benefits I get. I have noticed the difference when flying QF with low status, so I now find myself avoiding QF.

What do you guys think? Ever likely to happen?

No! It's not in their DNA to do status matches plus they are still leagues ahead of VA in terms of numbers.

Personally I think matching from VA is zero chance.

However I'd ay you would have a touch (still probably zero) more chance matching from another premium carriers program.

I wouldn't say no, I was status matched in October last year. I was a VA Plat and QF Bronze. There were reasons for my match though and I was matched Gold as before QF stopped flying to OOL I was Gold with them. I did show loyalty and will make WP1 before my YTD expires on the 31 Aug. You can only ask, that did do around 2000, but had a lot to do with the location.

You never know.

They are after all randomly handing out Gold and Platinum status to people who have never held status so a status match could be a possibility. May not happen anytime soon though.

Not good. You and anat0l were 2 people I was hoping would get comped Platinum another year.
