Evening everybody.

Question:

I am QFF Gold with an expiry date at end of July. From memory, reading the Qantas status extension that was announced in November last year, they said that all you need to do is to book a QF flight before the end of your anniversary.

My question is, do I have to book AND travel before the end of July or do I have to create a booking only? If the latter is true, what is the latest date I can make that booking for? (For example can I create the booking for later in the year?)

Thanks so much in advance!

All the info is here:

  • have made a new booking to travel on at least one eligible flight. The booking creation date must be between 23 November 2020 and before the member’s current status end date of between 31 March and 31 December 2021. The flight must be booked to travel before 31 December 2021.

So all I need to do is create the booking before 01 AUG 21 for travel no later than 31 DEC 21 and my status will be extended until the end of July 2022?

Almost ... you must create the booking before 31-JUL-21 (this being the stated end of your membership year) for travel no later than 31-DEC-21 and your status will be extended until the end of July 2022.
