This message appeared on my online Earth Platinum card statement dated 15/02/2009:

"From 1 April 2009, you will no longer earn an extra Qantas frequent flyer point per $1 spent on purchases from Qantas holidays or for purchases on hotels on qantas.com. Please note also that you do not earn an extra point per $1 spent on Qantas Freight, Qantas Business Travel, Jetset Travelworld channels, Qantas staff travel or Jetstar flights and services."

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

AFF Supporters can remove this and all advertisements

So is this Step 2/ with 1/ having been to only have QFF points earned on direct earn cards.....and now with (they hope) a monopoly on GFF CC earning they reduce other benefits???

Will this flow through to the QF branded CC as well??

I was already in the main going to mainly stick with Amex and Citibank for eventual redemption to Krisflyer.

This only makes it more so....as there will be no reason at all now to put qualifying spend on a QF card that had this bonus.

On earth.com.au it says

Until 31 March 2009, selected Qantas products and services are Qantas passenger flights (with a QF flight number) booked directly with Qantas, Qantas Club and Qantas Frequent Flyer memberships, purchases from Qantas Holidays, purchases from ‘Qantas Travel' customer shopfronts and purchases on Hotels on qantas.com - excludes Jetstar flights and services. From 1 April, 2009, you will no longer earn an extra Qantas Frequent Flyer point per $1 spent on purchases from Qantas Holidays or for purchases on Hotels on Qantas.com.

It does not appear to be everything that is being removed, just the specific cases of Qantas Holidays and hotels on Qantas.com. As far asI can see the booking of flights on Qantas.com will still get the extra point, and if this is the case, not something that will affect me.
