Hi all,

With long call times using the Qantas SMS chat service can be a big time saver. Below is a template I use to get a request across and provide the agent everything they need.
This way it’s time efficient for both parties. I usually find the agent is more willing to help promptly when you are organised.

This saves allot of back and forth texting for verification.

I do similar and also include any relevant booking reference (PNR) if one exists.

As per @KSC's post, it is generally useful to include as much information as possible as it lessens the to and fro which can often be hours between SMS's.

Depending on what you're requesting, explicitly mentioning you want a price estimate before confirming can be useful too. I had an operator almost lose half my award seats because they thought they needed to cancel the old ones to price the new ones.

Something I must also add. Thanks to a thread on this forum I was able to quickly link two passengers on the same flight with different booking numbers by requesting a TCP (Total Complete Party). Using this terminology they knew what to-do straight away,

The first line read:
Hi can I please organise a TCP (Total Complete Party)
for booking reference codes xx_xx_ & xx_xx_
