Hi all,
I have 2 Qantas " sale" fares Melb to UK departing 27/3 and we now can not travel. What are my options, I have read T & C for Qantas and I can change dates for a fee of $60 and pay price diff for new tickets, but do I still have to go to my original destination or do they allow a new destination ? I thought I would gather as much info before I ring Qantas. I do have travel insurance but no one is sick - just a teenager making some incorrect choices who we now do not wish to leave and who will not come with us.
Your thoughts would be appreciated

I can only comment on changing domestic flights with them (I assume international is probably the same). But you can cancel them and rebook to any destination that is the same price or more expensive within 12 months (so you don't have to decide now where / when to go). The change fee will be taken out when you rebook.

Sorry to hear about the errant teenager.

They should convert them into a voucher which must be used within 12 months of cancellation date. My son did this with QF sale fares to LAX and ended up using the voucher for a trans Tasman QF later on in the year. (He was the erant teen in this instance!)

Generally the rules regarding non refundable international QF flights state that it can be used for a fare of equal or higher value (note it cant be utilised for multiple smaller value trips) anywhere on the Qantas network.

You have 12 months from the date of ticketing to rebook.

Having said that, always wise to double check direct with QF to confirm that.
