My wife and I are headed for the UK later in the year. On previous visits we have accumulated a little extra luggage and used Pickfords Removalists to send the excess home in 'tea chests' actually cardboard boxes.
I noticed the other day that Qantas has provision for the purchase of an extra 23 kg of luggage using Frequent Flier points.
Has anyone used this and how many Frequent Flier points does it cost per 23 kg from London to Sydney?

Welcome to AFF Holsofmine!

If you do a quick google search you are returned to:

Pre Paid Additional Baggage | Qantas

Which mentions

To pre-purchase Additional Baggage Allowance, follow three simple steps:
  1. Login to Manage Your Booking from directly after booking up to 3 hours before the scheduled departure of the next Qantas operated flight on your itinerary and before check-in.
  2. Pay for Additional Baggage Allowance using credit or debit card or redeeming Qantas Frequent Flyer points. You will need to be logged in to your Frequent Flyer account to purchase with your points.

Have you tried going through that? It should tell you how much it'll charge you.

FWIW, it's probably an unrealistic number of points and you may be better off just paying cash.
