Qantas problems again

I hear the flight from Singapore to London did not get out of Singapore today due to 'electrical difficulties'. I think it originated in Sydney. More problems for Qantas!

Passengers have been put up in a Singapore hotel overnight.

Good to see they put you up in hotels etc rather than making you wait around the airport.

Can't wait to see the media sensationalist articles tomorrow about the delay. Geoff Dixon made some good comments today that summed up the media:

Mr Dixon said the media's focus on Qantas meant minor incidents, that would normally go unreported, were now being covered.

“There's a perception now being created of a lot more problems with Qantas than there is in reality,” he said.

Well its a 24 hour delay so if I were one of the passengers I would be pretty pissed of about it all.

I have no sympathy for Mr. Dixon and the media treatment he is being given. Dixon has used the media in the past to get his way (and done so very well). If it has turned on him and his protected species airline then so be it. Thats the nature of the beast.

It's not the first time it's happened, on any airline for that matter. And guess what, it will happen again too. Part of the deal of flying.
