Hi All, I can't decide!

I made it to QFF Lifetime gold last year.

Reached plat status with Qantas and BA gold.

Now I can qualify for plat with qantas next year or earn 2500 tier point with BA to get a voucher upgrade for two.

Spend 1/2 a year in both hemispheres and have plenty of point on qantas.

What would you do? Gotta decide for the big flight tomorrow 😅

Yes I've asking that for quite sometime... Is the QF direct line and more award and upgrade availability worth it🤔

What I get with QF WP besides the direct line

The ability to request award inventory. I would make full use of that to burn through your QFF point balance, then make the jump across to BA and go for GGL?

Actually, maybe disregard that - I was under the impression that two consecutive years of 3000 TPs got you GGL, but apparently not. Maybe look at *A ?

OK so I decided to credit it QFF to open up award and burn those points.

But I gotta say, I'm shocked at the lower status points earn in qantas compared to ba... With both at equivalent tier thresholds. So much easier to get emerald status on BA! Unless you're flying QF...

It’s 5000 TP to qualify and 3000 per year to retain.
Used to be 3000 two years in a row to qualify but they changed it a few years ago.
If I were the OP and making OWE on each airline I would direct everything to one of them for the next tier.
I think GGL is at present a far better and easier target to achieve and retain. Especially given that you can fly on whichever OW airlines you choose without having your status credits/ tier point earnings slashed.

I agree with PF.

I'd also say making OWE in two programs doesn't make a lot of sense unless there is a specific goal (eg: aim for higher status in one like GGL while retain in other to burn points). Another option is to make the OWE and direct other flying (when it makes sense) to another alliance program for future redemption options that give both variety and (hopefully) choice and flex for future please trips.
