Qantas Online Checkin - EST03?

Hi Guys,

Tried to checkin online for my flight SYD - LAX tomorrow and I'm getting error message EST03 - saying proceed to the airport to check in? Any ideas?

Are you in an exit row?
Do you have an upgrade requested?
For the latter, I've been umbale to checkin online until or unless the upgrade clears or is denied. For my last BNE-LAX trip, I could not check in at T-24. At T-23, I got an SMS to say my upgrade cleared. After that, I was able to check in online.

Just tried to check in SWMBO for QF9 tomorrow and received a similar msg.

"We are unable to process your check-in. Proceed to a Service desk at the airport where a customer service agent will assist you. [BR048]"

No upgrade request has been submitted, I think all fingers are crossed...

As a WP I just checked in for an ABX - SYD flight tomorrow and am Seq No.1 and there was no option for me to check into Row 1 so in Row 2. 3rd world issue I know but not seen Row 1 not open up inside T-24!!

SWMBO is then going onto a SYD - TMW flight and just checked her in, Seq No.1 and again, only Row 2 as an option, Not able to select Row 1!!

Anyone have any update or info on this?
Just tried checking into QF11 for tomorrow and I got the EST03 error message. There are no upgrade requests or exit rows, although there is a LAX-SEA sector 9 hours after landing in LAX.

Just rang QF up and they say EST03 means the ESTA validation failed.

Might have some more 'important' people than you on the flight... P1 or CL and their shadows keeping you out...

Potentially more 'important' people indeed but at T-24 it is a free for all is it not and not something I had encountered before, even as SG? I 'survived' said flights all the way back in Row 2 and can confirm there was a Bronze and a Silver in Row 1 from what I saw.

Row 1 is an exit row on the Dash 8s, never been able to select this as WP.

Thanks markis10, that explains why I couldn't select Row 1!

A lot of the time Qlink will P block the first two rows for trim purposes so it would appear as not being available for selection.

You could ask airport staff if it's possible to unblock the seats but they may have to check with the load controller first.

I mostly am *allocated* row 1 by QFLink on the Dash 8's however - almost 80% of the time, with QFLink I just let the computer seat me and don't bother selecting - seems to work!
