I'm looking a booking a revenue BA PE ticket including LHR-KUL and when I look at the QF points calculator it doesn't recognise PE on this route. Only Y and J.

So I assume I will get the points at the Y level? Typical Qantas....

Need to look at the conversion tables.

BA PE seems to book into W E or T,
Which Qantas classes as Flexible Economy along with the three highest Econ codes (Y H B)

Yeah Qantas puts the PE fares into the “Flexible Economy” category which will earn 60 SCs and 6,500 points.

Given QFi hardly fly to anywhere in Europe they're just trying to disincentive you from flying on their "partners" that fly to the few destinations they actually go to.

Which is relatively ok under “Simpler & Fairer”: 60 SCs v 85 if it had a QF code in PE.

Except there are dozens of Euro cities you can fly to with a QF code under the EK, AF/KL, BA agreements.

And even if there was a mapped BA Premium Economy code it would still be 60 SCs just a handful more points.

Thanks for your thoughts folks. Didn't mention it, but I am starting from NAP.

In the end, I decided that I couldn't handle 13 hours in BA PE, at any price, so have booked PC Y FCO-DOH (via SAW) for EUR 207 including "the works" and then a VA reward in J on QR to BKK. Will then connect to CX in PE to SYD.

You have to be a bit creative during Oz school holidays. And there will be a few nice breaks in the journey (I'm not in a hurry).

Frequent flyer points/avios/miles and the status earning on partners are a commercial transaction between the 2 airlines.
The partner buys for cash QF flyer points/avios/miles and the inherent SC to reward(~bribe) you for buying a flight with them.
On the other side QF buys for cash BA/AA/AY etc flyer points/avios/miles and the inherent status earning to reward(~bribe) when those with a partner ffn who buy a flight with QF.
On AFF (and FT) we are in the 2% 3% 4% 5% who care and know about such things. Most passengers are not interested, even if they have frequent flyer account.
Frequent flyer(~spender) programs are very profitable for the airlines.
