Recently travelled LHR to Hong Kong QF30 in Y with wife 11 yr old grandson. Meal trays not collected an hour after serving so needed to take our trays to galley to allow grandson to go to toilet. Have experienced similar and longer collection of trays on other Qantas long haul flights. On one 0ccasion, LHR to Bangkok, visited galley to find 3 crew chatting and sipping orange juice. Interested in feedback from other Qantas travellers

I've always had a suspicion that they leaves the trays out for longer than is necessary. This keeps people in their seats longer, less time wondering around the aisles and creating traffic.

Depends. If you're at the front of a service area you will wait longer.
The service takes longer than the collection.

Normally by the time they have fnished serving the last meal they begin the collection (or the refills)

That said an hour seems excessive
