I'm curious if anyone knows anything more about this but I was reading the Points Hacks review of the Qantas London Lounge and noticed at the bottom they mentioned paid access at £55 for 2 hours or £110 for a day pass which can be purchased regardless of airline.

Has anyone tried this? Do other QF lounges offer paid access at the door or is this just a London thing?

I found a couple of pre-covid articles about it and wonder if other lounges that are quieter like HKG could have a similar setup?

Don't get me wrong £55 is expensive but around the time of QF departures when the gin bar and menu is on offer I could see it being ok value?

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

As a rule of thumb, they dont do it like that.
If they want, what they is offer you access, via you an access pass, via your upcoming flight booking.
You turning up with credit card wont work.

That is Pointhacks, and not official QF material.
By all means, let see someone try and if they succeed.

They do offer walk-up purchases of lounge access at the QF LHR lounge. It's usually advertised on the screens in the terminal. Below the directions to the QF lounge, it'll say 'paid access available'.

However, it is the only QF lounge in the network that offers it as far as I know. And it is very much capacity dependent. I've seen people get rejected at the entrance even when the electronic sign has said 'paid access available'.

My guess is it's due to the oversupply of oneworld lounges in T3, meaning it can get very quiet outside of the QF2/10 departures.

As for whether it is worth it, if there are two of you, you could buy a seafood platter for two & several glasses of wine at the Caviar House for less than £110, so you'd want to be drinking a lot or making use of other facilities (eg the shower).
