Qantas International Check In Times - Sydney T1

Hi Everyone,

I'm flying to New York on QF this coming Saturday. My friend is also travelling to New York but via Dallas on another flight later that day.

Is she able to check in more than 3 hours before her flight to spend time with me in the Qantas Club lounge.

I'm departing sydney international T1 and I'm not arriving via domestic service. I live in sydney and will be cabing it in.

Generally not (particularly if no status) - QF is fairly strict about the 3hr limit for check-in.

However if (and somewhat unlikely for a female) she is carry-on only you could do online check-in and go in earlier.

Assume you are on QF107 depart 1155, and she is on QF7 depart 1540 ?
If so that would make it difficult.

If you are platinum, will they let you check in more than 3 hours earlier with luggage ( I won't be coming off a connecting domestic flight, but will be at the airport about 4 hours earlier rather than 3)thanks

Where are you flying to?
The flights to LAX and LHR are usually open for checking 4 hours prior to departure.
I've also checked in ~ 4.30 hrs before and they offered to keep my suitcase at the F check-in and my luggage receipt was sent to the F Lounge for me.
As an NB flying J many moons ago I wasn't offered anything of the sort and had to wait it out in the food court

along a similar line but slightly OT as it centres around me not the OP.

I have a booked for 4xpax syd-lax and have linked a booking (after reading on here somewhere that WP could do this even for NB counterparts) for 2 of those pax dbo-syd (my parents)
The dbo-syd flight arrives at about 5 hours before the SYD-LAX flight and I have confirmed they can transfer, which makes life easier for them, but then they are airside and we are not and we are the pax with status.
Based on the above replies it sounds like we may be able to check in early, would our case be helped by the fact that have the travelling party is already checked in BP's in hand and luggage transferred for the flight?

We are going to go to the airport early to meet my (probably annoying don't know what to do hold up every queue possible kind of traveller) parents regardless but if we can get the early access to the lounge the wait will be much more pleasant I am sure
