If only there was a J lounge in Perth!

Does the F lounges serve Blue Label like the BA F lounge? That was outstanding being on free pour along with Glenlivet 18yo.....got my $ worth there :D

It's funny no matter where you go overseas the people purchasing truckloads of Red label JW and Smirnoff are bogans in their wife bashers, boardies and thongs!......Yes I am stereotypical but its just an observation, I have been to a lot of places and it happens everywhere, im sure other people buy it (no clue why) but the bogans love the cough.

If you like scotch, you are better off buying a single malt scotch whiskey rather then a blended scotch whiskey. I used to like Johnny Red, but thinking about it now makes feel ill. Even Johnny Black is only a slight improvement. These days I prefer Irish whiskeys like Jamiesons.

JW red and black is good with a mixer like coke. Irish whiskey is just awesome and at a good price. Otherwise expensive single malt.

Personally I dont't like single malts, and going by the smaller number available in any makers' range, there doesn't seem to be a huge demand, more of a niche. I am liking the new JW Platinum Label though.

Personally, I don't care if its single malt or a blend. I am interested in the flavour and there are some awesome blended whiskeys as well as some amazing single malts. There are also some poor examples of each type.

I rate JW Gold as a good all-round whiskey, but its not my preferred style. My favourite JW is the Double Black. I like the smoky flavour and even though I have JW Gold and Blue in the cupboard, its the Double Black that will be finished first.

I really do like the flavour variety available in the single malts. But my preference is for the smokey, pungent, peaty flavours that generally originate from Islay and Speyside regions.

Open in my cupboard now are the following:
  • JW Blue
  • JW Gold
  • JW Double Black
  • Glenmorangie Original
  • Glenmorangie Sherry Oak

Yet to open:
  • Scapa 16yo
  • Yamazaki 18yo
  • Laphroaig 25yo :)

So you can see that I have not had much duty-free opportunity this year as most of my supplies of Islays/Speysides have been consumed.

No JW Gold in the Sydney T1 J lounge yesterday, just Chivas and a ice holder that was holding a solid block of Ice, pick axe please. Popped in to check out the Gold, no Gold, crowded lounge with disgusting toilets, needless to say I was back to the sanctum of the F lounge which was empty very quickly.
