Qantas FF- 15 min transfer-is it possible??

Hi there


I have a Qantas frequent flight from Copenhagen to Roveniemi- with a 15 minute change over in Helsinki.....is this possible or will I be bumped off onto another flight? Has anyone had a flight with such a tight transfer???

Depart –AY429-Hel-16:20-Arv Rvn 17:40
Should Qantas have made this flight available- suppose it's my fault as I didn't check the transfer time in between....even Finnair don't offer the flight.....will I be penalised if I request a change????

No chance in hell unless it happens to be the same plane, which I very much doubt.

Would re-book asap.

I'm going for no chance too.

I dare say given theyve booked you outside min. connect time you'd have a good chance at avoiding any change fees, though surprisingly the min. connect time according to GAL is only 20 mins DOM to DOM and 30 mins INTL to DOM.

The only thing on your side for this transfer is that it's EU->EU... that speeds up things dramatically at HEL (No security screening or passport control normally required).

But 15 mins just seems way too tight. The EU side of HEL isn't that large, but I still wouldn't risk it (especially if you haven't been there before and don't know the layout).

That is definitely not a valid connection in the summer months.

Call QF and see if youy can get an earlier flight from CPH otherwise you will more than likely be stuck in HEL for the night.

Just changed my booking- no penalty.
When asked how could this happen- how could the system let this go through- they told me they didn't know what I had done !!!!! as this combination is not coming up at any other time. I just entered CPH to RVN- and their system gave me the impossible combination!

I know I should have checked- but I just looked at departure time and travelling time- obviously I picked the shortest one Another thing to remember when booking......don't take it for granted they give you possible connections!

I've found that I can't rely on airline booking engines to always offer doable connections. There was a while there where united.bomb was in the habit of offering 50-minute connections between the incoming NRT-LAX service on NH and LAX-JFK on UA. Anyone who has been to LAX knows that is entirely less than feasible, no matter what class you're flying.
