Qantas exit row fail

Trip from Perth to Sydney over a week ago, paid for exit row and then was moved out having been told "making way for someone who bought the exit row seating"

was told at the service desk refund would be sorted (not yet) and then in my feedback on the advisory panel I asked to be contacted on this (not yet)

so not happy - now having to chase qantas!

Note of caution:- i did get points upgrade going over and selected my seat which then came up with a funny screen saying that I did not need to pay any extra money for the exit row I had already booked and paid for so wondering if there is a glitch in the seat selection process if you make a change to another flight in the booking (I did not change my exit row seat).
 
That's frustrating. The part that concerns me is that they felt it was OK to move you from the exit row seat you paid for, so that they could sell the same seat to somebody else. What's the point of paying to reserve a seat, then?

I find the OP a touch confusing. Did the OP end up getting an upgrade on the same flight?

No it was the flight going Sydney to Perth that was the upgrade. The paid exit row seating was Perth to Sydney (return leg) My thought is that by going on and doing a seat selection for that upgraded flight nay have impacted the seat selection for the other flight, even though i made no changes to that sector.
