I see the same and no, I do not believe it is normal - IIRC, it used to show the current as well as next months ...

Maybe they are revising their content with the streaming stuff ... or perhaps they have simply not updated.
 
My flights on 2 Jan QF94 and yesterday QF616 still had Decembers IFE offerings.
QF94 had no Australian Way on board but 616 had January's magazine.
Obviously holiday season like the business lounge closures.
 
My last two QFi flights in J had no functioning IFE. 13 hours from LHR-SIN. So even if I knew what was on I couldn't watch anyway!

It was a paid J fare. Already wrote to QF but I doubt I'll get anything.

I'd call them. Considering the amount you pay what you have received isn't up to scratch.

There is anecdotal evidence that others have had this money arrive without having contacting QF so your guess is as good as mine

Well I wrote to QF via snail mail on the 06th of Jan. today, the 07th of Feb I get an email. Copy & Paste type, gaps in the typing where they have inserted text, usual cough. Just acknowledging that the crew were unable to fix it and that the engineers on the ground had to do it. Apologies, not up to our standard, Blah blah blah, that's it.

So, time to escalate! Bad move Qantas, now I'm really p!ssed off!

Was the IFE not working as soon as your boarded ?
 
Yes, from the word go it was buggered. Plenty of places to escalate to. Charge Back. ACCC.

I'm on a mission now, the response was so pathetic, that's what set me off.
 
I personally don't think you will get that far...definitely not a charge back... The ACCC can't investigate for you, they'll just give advice.

You'd have to take it to a small claims claim I believe...

Yep a poor response like that always make me fight harder to get something back!

Paid J and a $100 voucher is pathetic

I have received far far more for small delays and re-routing before which had no real impact on me besides more lounge time and another lounge visit

Neither of those is appropriate nor will get you anywhere. You did receive the vast majority of the service you bought. The complaint will have to go to someone higher up the chain at QF. I'd suggest contacting Lesley Grant.

And this is probably a personal thing on my part, but I'd totally avoid using the word "compensation". I'd suggest a partial refund (or points to the value of) would be appropriate.

Well, I got a personalised response today. Apology and 20,000 QFF points.

I'm happy with that.
 
Hmm - not sure that is acceptable personally. On the couple of occasions I had buggered IFE and noticed I got about $100 onboard duty free vouchers. At the time I thought that was fine. Next time IFE didnt work I was totally oblivious to it (was using laptop I think) but a couple of weeks later got a travel voucher for $600...

Makes me think to make sure I try the IFE even if I plan to use the iPad... just to see if compensation might be due ;)
