Double Points and DSC [Book by 8/9/17, fly by 6/9/18]

Hi all. Looking for some advice. I paid for some gift vouchers during this promotion and then used these GV’s for bookings made in June for four fights in July of this year. The PNRs of the GVs were maintained. I’ve been chasing QF for the double SC’s and they have finally come back to me in writing to say the bookings were intelligible as the flights were booked in June 18. They did automatically credit DSC’s for one of the 4 flights and are saying that was in error but they would not be reversing but would not be crediting the missing flights.

Just wondering what your views are as to how to proceed eg process and or wording of further correspondence

Booked flights in June flew June on GV and have DSC credited for all flights. What info did you give when chasing DSC and was it in writing or verbal? I had to chase some of them just pointed out that others had been credited and that these where simply missing.
 
I went the e-mail route. Provided them with all the details- PNR, flight details, DSC promotion details but didn’t mention it was a GV booking. I initially got a form email response talking about wait 6-8 weeks blah blah. I then pointed out that the terms were 6 weeks for this promotion and got the ineligible due to the booking being made outside of the offer period. The real sense of their correspondence was one of trying to just shut it down without having to deal with it

I’ve now gone the phone route and got a lovely operator who reviewed it and has credited the DSC’s.

The lessons for me here are when dealing with QF it’s probably best to go the phone route, expect the inconsistency and if at first you don’t succeed try a different path.
