Qantas Business Class meals & menus

I think pork is an odd choice for an airline meal given that Muslims and Jews can't eat it, if they are observant. I don't eat it because I hate the flavour.

And given that I'm allergic to fish, I'm not too keen on the fish pie either. That menu would suck for me.

Which isn't a problem, as I almost never fly J anymore. :p

Funny considering the number of complaints when QF removed bacon off the menu for QF1/2/9/10 going via DXB...

Alas, yet another down side to the EK alliance. Are there actually any positives?

I don't see why QF had to fall into line with EK. Why couldn't EK offer bacon to it's non Muslim and Jewish pax?

To be honest, I don't really like bacon when it's served as part of an airline meal so I don't see it as a loss.

ummmm..this thread is about QF DOMESTIC BUSINESS CLASS MEALS... I suggest suze2000 avail themselves of the 'special dietary' options that can be pre ordered on QF domestic flights (available at time of booking)...they may better suit your 'requrements'

QF1519 SYD-CBA 5.35pm
January 2014

Refreshment: Antipasto plate, bread roll, slice.
No alternative available.

No time to actually consume meal and full glass practically snatched out of my hand on descent. The beginning of descent was so abrupt that food trays and bottles slid forward and almost off the tray tables.

J Food service on CBR-SYD (or vice versa) sector (when in jet) always full-pelt if not sent circling by ATC. No time for leisure really.

CBR-SYD seemed almost relaxed in comparison. Actually had time to enjoy my meal.

Menu on PER-BNE this afternoon. Has not changed for the last few months. It is the same both ways also.

Since when did they start serving juice in the bottles? Unless it was a special request, I've always received juice in a glass on breakfast flights.

Thats what they do on syd/cbr flights only due to short short sector length. Saves time

It helps greatly if you are in 1A or, indeed, first row - by the time they get to row 3 they are almost announcing clear cabin lol

I used to fly CBR-SYD in J once a week on average (due to company policy for CxO staff). I was always in row 1, but often the Captain would announce "cabin crew, prepare for landing" before the crew had finished with row 2.

Sucks to be the person in row 3.

Of course that was when the J fare was about $350 - or ~$50 more than the flexible fare that I needed anyway. At the current ~$517 mark for D I'd rather save that cash for my cost centre! :)

Yes, doing J on such a hyper-short sector only makes sense for SC purposes (or simply because you can/your employer loves you lol) - as a former regular on this service (who frequently dodged the Dash, even if it meant accepting limited flight times) I always made sure to secure 1A (or 1C, 1D or 1F) and I learn to optimise my time well.
