Hi Everyone,

Really excited to be a member of the forums here! I've just got a small question for you guys regarding how to get in touch with Qantas by sending them an email. I wish to cancel my award booking and receive a refund of all points as well as the credit card charges on compassionate grounds.

Would someone be able to help me?

Much appreciated, thank-you!

Mike

In this instance I suggest you ring them. When cancelling award bookings it is important to ask/insist on a refund of points rather than accepting the cash amount offered which can often be less than the award is worth.

You can then make a short argument for the other charges to be waived at the same time. For this part of the conversation keep it short factual and polite.

No emotion!

Then if you don't get what you want you can follow it up with an email. But the initial conversation allows you to make these arguments and answer any questions the representative may have to clarify matters.

As I understand it all award bookings are cancellable except for a 5000 point cancellation fee. I don't think you need to ask for any special consideration or compassion.
