Hi All,

Not sure if I'm having a dyslexic day or not, I've done a number of searches and I'm not quite getting what I'm after.... anyhow

I have two complimentary Qantas Club passes from a HSBC card I got earlier in the year and I was hoping to use it at LAX but I can't quite understand whether the LAX International Business Lounge is a Qantas or "oneworld" operated... would love to burn these passes by having a relaxing wine before take off in dreaded cattle class.

Any insights whether these passes work at LAX or am I betting off using them in Melbourne?

Appreciate your help.

Cheers,
Dave

yeah it's got some t&c's such as it must be a qantas operated lounge etc - the qantas website says Tom Bradley terminal has a international business lounge but it's operated by AF, BA & CX which led me to think it was possibly a oneworld lounge not qantas etc...

This is invitation is valid for a single visit to The Qantas Club or Qantas operated International Business Lounges by one guest before the specified on the invitation. Invitations cannot be renewed once expired.

You must present the invitation on arrival at the lounge and be travelling that day on a Qantas or Jetstar flight (with a QF or JQ flight number on your ticket).

To become a Qantas Club member, simply call 13 11 31.

ahh, that's what I suspected.... thanks Spruce - guess I am best using it in Melbourne then

It's an interesting one. Given it is listed under 'International Business' as opposed to 'Associated Lounges' on the QF website, it may be a valid location for access. But I do not say that with any certainty. You could call QF and ask, but as we know, the agents' answers can not always be taken with certainty either.

Edit: I now note you have also visited the site. I guess we can interpret it different ways. I also guess if you have no other opportunities to use the pass(es) then a certainty like MEL would be preferable over an uncertainty like LAX TBIT.

I thought t4 in lax was a qf loubge and tbit wasn't.... but I could be wrong.

T4 lounge has QF desk and representatives. Pretty sure you can use it there. I like the t4 lounge better than the TBIT one.

thanks for the replies, appreciate it - i guess i'll have to give them a call during the week when i have a speakerphone ... i tried to call twice but was on hold for 25+ minutes, lousy.

I've used passes at TBIT the last 2 years without problems.

sensational jgm, that is exactly the feed back I'm chasing!! i was even contemplating using the passes in AKL and buying the Admiral's Club 30 day membership for an upcoming trip.
