Hi everyone. I can't find the answer online but I know someone here will know. I have a domestic ticket for me and my partner to fly Syd to Lst via Mel. I want to upgrade using points but the second flight mel to lst does not have business. If I pay 8000 miles each ticket to upgrade can we access the business lounge in Melbourne as well as Sydney. We will have a business bp for flight 1 and economy for flight 2. I know that someone will know

Thanks everyone

Eligibility and Access to The Qantas Club lounges
Class of Travel: Qantas Domestic Business
Domestic Business Lounge/ The Qantas Club (Domestic lounge)

Next onward flight that day must be on a Qantas marketed and operated flight.
One guest permitted if also travelling on a Qantas marketed and operated flight[SUP]^[/SUP].

That being said, it can't hurt to try to get access. Worst is the lounge dragons say no.

I've been advised (and then been granted access) in the past that J lounge access simply requires a J boarding pass issued for that day.

That works for JAL too. I used my first class BP from the US to Japan to access the first class lounge at Narita, where I waited for my whY Qantas flight back to Oz.

It makes sense when you think about it (although I admit that I had to look up the rules).

I was travelling AKL-SYD-BNE-EMD a few months ago in J (obviously last leg in Y on the Dash 8), all booked as one ticket (and as expensive as expected). It seemed odd to have to "downgrade" to the QP at BNE, however as expected, no issues heading into the J lounge.
