Qantas Auckland lounge

so can confirm that whilst Plat Dining area opens for breakfast, it closes again from 10am-12pm, which is a real pain for those on QF144 who need to leave for boarding gate at 12.30pm. Surely they could open lunch at 11.30am - which is in line with lunch service commencing in Syd/Mel Flounges - to accommodate this flight.

12-12;30 is more than enough time to eat there and the Auckland 737 flights don’t actually board 45 minutes before departure anyway. For a 1:25pm departure you’d be lucky if you are boarding at 1pm in my experience.

Given all the issues for entry in the previous few pages - my question is :

I'll be flying QR business from Auckland to Melbourne, would I only get access to the Strata lounge (as per what is showing in the app) or should I also have access to the Qantas IB lounge considering it's OW?

You will have access to the Qantas lounge

I have now twice heard the staff say to guests they can safely wait another 15+ minutes after a boarding call in the Auckland lounge, even if you want to board first or can only move at a leisurely pace. But I agree the 12pm “opening” is quite silly.

Thankyou - I had some doubts as I saw some concerning posts a few pages ago plus my seat on QR is a business reward seat booked via VFF.

At the least though, I believe I should have access to the Strata lounge as a baseline.

Mussels were very good. Fries crispy and tasty as well.

Sausage and lentils combination was good. Expected slightly better quality meat but it was tasty. Also anticipated more than just one. No dramas to order a second!

Interesting that a few folk tried to sneak through and sit down without their Invitation
I think every time I've been in there I've seen the staff tell multiple people they aren't allowed in, haven't yet seen someone do the walk of shame yet though

I saw it twice, once at breakfast a couple of weeks ago. A woman sat down with her breakfast buffet plate.
Then again this weekend, this time at lunch a bloke sat down when no staff were there, asked for card and then did the walk of shame.

I agree.

I found it all a bit odd. And not all that pleasant.

Have a separate lounge entirely and any such issue is resolved at the door.
I would have enclosed an area near the windows, had frosted glass doors and marked it Emeralds Only 😂

Bit more AA Flagship dining, bit less fish bowl.
