And interestingly, the Velocity app was blocked at DOH last week!! Needed to find the PNR at the transfer desk, but no dice!

Why type of internet connectivity were you using?

The Doha airport free wifi… it was all I had connection to! My global roaming didnt work in Qatar (not that i needed it for anything, except at that moment!)

The Qataris are fanatical about the paper work and Security. Yesterday at JNB when checking in for the 2 flights going to BKK I was asked for the ticket number, Thailand arrival card, Yellow fever card as well as the PNR. Thankfully I could produce them all as the JNB wifi wasn’t too bad.

Then arriving at DOH last night the premium security was a shambles but next door the economy lines were bedlam. They insisted that I Could not put my walking stick through the premium security although I did it on the 3 other occasions i have been there. They said it had to go through the economy machine. I just refused to go. so they took my stick and did it themselves.
As well more bags sent for secondary examination than any other airport I have transited. Of course my bag was one of them and wasn’t even looked at. Presumably payback for being difficult.
