I have purchased (paid all the taxes and charges with my cc AFAIC) 2 tickets for me and my wife thru Qantas website on 9 Sept 2010 for a return flights to Sydney from Singapore by using points. Until today, I still haven't received email with E-tickets.

Called Qantas office today to enquire about my booking and the reply was: "Since their Singapore office hasn't processed my cc payment, that is why I haven't received an email with E-tickets. Help desk person will send a reminder email to them to process my cc payment today."

My questions are: :?:

1.If they havne't processed the payment and I didn't bother to contact them until the flight date, would I be able to get seats with my booking ref. number, would I be still get the seats as status says "confirmed" or not without E-tickets?

2. Or are they trying to sell tickets first and assign me the seats with any empty seats available? So, basically I am on standby?

TIA for your replies.

Did you purchase a Classic Award or an Any Seat Award? Not that I expect it would make a difference, but I’m curious here.

You probably would not get on the aeroplane or have a seat allocation unless they have issued a ticket.

No. If yield management have allocated availability in the ticket class then that will be allocated to you. Business is 'U' class and economy is 'X' class.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

It says without issuing me e-tickets & they actually deducted my points:
Status - confirmed
Travel class - economy (x)
