Hi all, probably a noob question -
I know a lot of people purchase tix departing foreign lands online eg on separate itineraries, and on the research I've done ex BKK is very cheap (I want to use points to Asia and then purchase from Asia > Europe separately). QF have a limitation on online bookings from HKG and BKK that you need to show a credit card which is no good for me, but I can't see that warning from other airlines when I do dummy bookings.
First thoughts are to book Finnair, Thai or Malaysian for BKK-LHR-BKK - are there any "gotchas" that I need to consider booking this as an Australian resident departing BKK eg credit card issuance, residency etc or is it just like booking online for any other country?
Also, I assume the credit card limit only applies online - could I call the QF call centre and book ex BKK (and would they charge a higher price than quoted online, or are the prices the same regardless and just market forces in BKK that keeps them lower than ex other countries)?
Thanks
