Hi.
I hope I am in the correct forum.
I was wondering if anyone else was having problems booking flights using LifeMiles app?
I have been trying to book a flight from Bangkok to Perth business class with Thai Airlines, when I search the system I am able to locate business class flight for date, I select and go through process of adding travelers, then when enter , it thinks for a while then I get an error message.

I did try and reach out to lifemiles first you get message that the email address in the error message no longer monitored. With the time difference and cost it difficult for me to ring them.

Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

thank you.

Unfortunately… a whole discussion already on this very matter :(

Your problem is a known one, with no solution.

The call centre won’t be able to help you either, unfortunately.

You can use skype, and it’s a free call to avianca/lifemiles USA toll free number.

The last couple of pages of the thread i posted above should give you the info you need, albeit not what you are wanting to hear :(

(edited… dunno why it is posting an individual post above, but clicking on it will take you to the main thread anyway)

The error message is a reflection of the fact that there are no seats released for redemption with that airline in that cabin class Thai airways seems to have stopped releasing redemption seats completely

I have been trying to book a flight from Tokyo to Bangkok on Life miles for one month. The site shows plenty of dates available like you I go through the whole process only to receive the same error message telling me to email or call them. I have sent 4 emails with no reply and when I call I am told no flights are available. I inform them that I am in their website and it shows 4 seats available for my flight. They say sorry we have no availability on your date. I say when do you have availability? They say sorry we have no availability. I am done with Lifemiles as soon as I use up my 100,000 plus miles but at this rate that may never happen

The call centre can only see what we see on line. And they’ll get the same error message as we do.

Nothing you can really do, it’s likely phantom availability. Did you cross reference on say United’s booking tool to see if they have the same seats available? Not that it’s going to do you much good, but at least you can see whether the seats are real or not.

Their email service used to be great, but again you could only send in requests for availability you could see on line. So even they wouldn’t be able to help in a case like this.

my issue is that i can also see the same flight and cabin on eh UA website, so is it a case that TWO star alliance partners are getting false availability?

Personally, this reeks of a being a scam from Avianca. Show false availability, sell miles to people to redeem against that false availability and then say "sorry, no availability".

it simply can not be the case that they are allowed to show months and months worth of availability from February all the way to September, pretty much on every day, with ALL of it being wrong. ill be filing a dispute with the DOJ.

Unfortunately the issues with LM have been well documented for years :(

Cross referencing availability on other star programs can be helpful, but it very far from any guarantee that it will be available to LM.
