I'm hoping someone can help me out. Trying to book a TPE-HKG-MEL flight and I'm getting this error when I try to go to the payment page (after filling out my name & contact details).

For testing purposes I tried booking TPE-HKG-MNL instead and I was able to get through to the payment page.

I found an semi-recent thread on flyer talk suggesting that it may have something to do with my IP address not coming from Taiwan (I'm located in Australia). I actually just tried a Taiwanese proxy service and got the same error. :(

Any suggestions?

For reference the FT thread is here: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/cath...ding-online-airticket-booking-pls-assist.html

I am getting the same error.

I have had this happen to me before but I cannot remember the exact details. I would suggest that it is either a data base error or website error.

Have you tried calling CX help desk and quoting the error number 16012?

It's on my list of things to do today. I'll let you know how I go.

I tried a tpe-hkg-syd booking and I got to the payment page no problem. So the issue seems to have sorted itself.
I still get the problem when trying to book TPE-HKG-MEL.

However, I can confirm that it works when dummy booking TPE-HKG-SYD.

How strange!?

Were you able to actually make a payment? Or were you just making a dummy booking?

I'm going to try calling them at lunch time today. If I have no luck I might just book a TPE-HKG-SYD and get a QF red e-deal to MEL from there.

Just a quick update.

I called CX in Australia. When I asked to book an ex TPE flight they told me to call the TPE office to get "the special fare".

I called the TPE office but was told that there were no available J seats for the flights that I wanted. I'm going to have to call back I think as the line was really bad and I'm only 90% sure I understood what they were trying to tell me.

It doesn't bother me so much if I have to book a TPE-HKG-SYD instead. I'm going to have trouble selling it to SWMBO though. :\

Note: I didn't mention that I was having trouble with the web site but I sensed that they were going to try to shunt my call over to a help-desk of some kind. I quickly backtracked and just asked to book the fare over the phone instead.

OK the strangest thing has just happened.

When I redo the search for these flights on the CX web site they are now hi-lighted in grey, indicating that if I want to select them I need to upgrade to a Business Flex fare (instead of Business Standard).

This is just minutes after concluding my call with CX in TPE.

If I choose another flight combo on the same date it seems to let me through to the payment page.

Umm. The web site is buggy. The flights in question aren't hi-lighted in grey any more.

*shrugs*

I think my problem is solved by picking a different flight combo. Unfortunately it may required a stop in ADL before an onward flight to MEL (CX105).
