I'm interested to know what the payoff for Priority club is compared to other hotel programs. Does anyone know what other hotels offer?

ie

Priority Club:
Average Points Awarded Per Night: 10*150=1500
Average Points required for a reward night: 30,000
(Assumptions: Base Membership, Price of $150 per night)

Hilton Honours:
Average Points Awarded Per Night: ?
Average Points required for a reward night: ?
(Assumptions: Base Membership, Price of $200 per night)

Marriot Rewards:
Average Points Awarded Per Night: ?
Average Points required for a reward night: ?
(Assumptions: Base Membership, Price of $200 per night)

Accor Platinum:
Average Points Awarded Per Night: ?
Average Points required for a reward night: ?
(Assumptions: Platinum Membership (coz everyone has it! :)), Price of $200 per night)

Hyatt:
Average Points Awarded Per Night: ?
Average Points required for a reward night: ?
(Assumptions: Base Membership, Price of $200 per night)

One of the biggest issues is being able to get those benefits where you go, outside the capital cities in most cases your options shrink, so having status in a number of programs makes sense. It's a pity that the most populous chain as far as coverage goes has the worst benefits - Accor, but maybe that makes sense!

-Points awarded are 10 x US$ value spent + potentially an extra 50% if you choose this style of double dip, so, assuming 1AUD$=1US$ then 200$ x 10 x 1.5 = 3000

-Straight points rewards seem relatively fixed at about 0.4/0.5c of redemption per point, so an AUD$200/night room is likely to cost 40,000 points or thereabouts. (points and pay are quite often better value)

Thanks for the update. It makes it easier to compare all of them.

Is anyone here on top tier membership for nearly all the hotels?

Comparison of programs: Depends what you are interested in.

Elite status with some of the programs is really worthwhile and add a lot of value over the no-status 'free nights' points redemption thing.

Well not all of them; I am Platinum with Priority Club, A-club (Le Club Accor) and Rydges. I agree with the above posts: it depends what you are after (benefits or free nights, etc) and as it happens, many of the regional towns I visit have none, or only one, of the chains mentioned (at least it makes the choice easy!).

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Free nights and upgrades.

Quick question, do any of the other programs have similar to point breaks?

Not that I know of.

Rydges give a free night after 15 stays as a new member; 10 as a Plat. Half price drinks and food as a plat; 20% disc normal.

Accor is generally considered poor but are available in lots of places the others aren't.

PC generally quite good; especially if you pay with a Citi CC and get bonus ff points; (4.25 qff with CitiBusiness on top of the PC points). PC also has bonus point offers.

I usually look for PC first (but can be beyond my budget), Rydges second & a-club third. But as we all have different requirements that may not suit you.

Thanks for the excellent summary.
My main destinations would be New York, London, Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong, Macau.

I think PC point breaks works the best in Beijing and Shanghai.
Hong Kong is expensive, so I may have to settle for Holiday Inn point stays, as is New York and London.

I was also interested in being an ambassador, but the costs are pricey. (if taking into account the RA cert).
even the base room is around $400 in Hong Kong per night.
