Yep :( Interesting to see them open an independent lounge in Australia! Sydney is they only other one but they appear to be operating the AMEX and Sky Team lounges with no direct brand and despite direct sales to the Sky Team lounge, no Priority Pass. Though the price is $66/2h or $130/5h.. the Brisbane lounge seems to be a flat $66 for up to 2 hours.. so may be part of why. I'm reasonably sure that space in Brisbane is much cheaper than Sydney, let alone in the airport. :)

I was in the Plaza Premium Lounge at Brisbane International a little over a month ago. I had to use the Amex Platinum Charge card for access as it was not yet available for Priority Pass holders. Service was reasonably good and all drinks were free of any charge.

The other OZ Priority Pass lounge is at Cairns International, not Sydney.

At the moment that lounge is being used as a Q Lounge as the International lounge is under renovations until October sometime...

Dragonpass have this lounge on their list - free to join and if you join via Regus (Point Hacks have a article on this) then you get your passes discounted down to 16 pounds per pass - approx $27 AUD at the current exchange rate. I'd post the links but as this is my first post I'm unsure of the posting etiquette and as such I'm not sure if posting third party links is appreciated. Dragonpass is also pay as you go, just top up your account prior to using the lounge, 1 per lounge entry so if it's you + your partner = 2 passes

When you say this, do you mean that you paid using your charge, or is there a complimentary entry that i'm not aware of? :)

The entry was indeed complimentary on showing the Amex Platinum charge card. Other than the $1200/pa paid to Amex for the right to use it and take advantage of the associated benefits.

Interesting!... I thought it was just Virgin Australia & Delta lounge access when presenting the Platinum Charge card.

I can't post hyperlinks due to post count but you can see the Brisbane Lounge mentioned in the first search result on "plaza premium lounge access american express".
If you've got the Platinum Charge card I hope you have also requested the Priority Pass as well. It comes in very handy if you are not travelling J or F internationally.

Shouldn't really matter since the Platinum charge comes with unlimited PP entries.

Wonder if this will further limit how many pax QF are allowed to admit to the lounge vs being given a food voucher?

It's AA Admiral's Clubs and Priority Pass lounges though IIRC the PP requires you to sign up for a free Amex Reserve (?) Card that's foc with the Plat charge card.

I have used the BNE Plaza Premium lounge twice while the BNE Qantas lounge is being renovated. Its a reasonable lounge, but quite small. Comfortable seating. A small selection of food. Bar is not self-serve, but the staff walking around clearing tables often offer to bring you another drink. While being used by Qantas there is no charge for drinks ... not sure if that is always the case.

But I am looking forward to the re-opening of the Qantas lounge at BNE Int.
