Hey guys, going to be flying SYD-AKL return in a month or so on a DJ codeshare operated by Air NZ. Since NZ doesn't have online check-in I want to check that VA silvers do indeed get priority check-in on NZ flights - it says this on the Velocity site, but if that's correct then Velocity silvers get priority check-in while Airpoints silvers don't, which seems like a strange situation. I'm sure the Velocity site is right but I'm just making sure so I don't embarrass myself at the airport :)

I have no idea of the correct in a practical sense but would take a printout and just 'do it' If anyone queries you then show them the printout.

At AKL you don't really need premium check-inn these days anyway, there are self check kiosks for Tasman flights in the standard check-inn / premium lobby

I fly occasionally to NZ either with VA-NZ or Air NZ. And as a silver member I have used the priority check in a few times, probably the best advantage is you can take the lift upstairs to the private customs desk, instead of walking around the airport then queuing.

I used the self checkin kiosks in AKL last week and since I'm DJ Gold it automatically printed priority luggage tags for me. I have a colleague with me who doesn't have status but I'd like him to receive priority baggage as well which the staff always arrange when doing a checkin at the desks. So can anyone tell me if there's a way to get my colleague priority bag tags through the self checkin or on the other hand does Air NZ still have non-self checkin desks at AKL for tasman flights?
