Primera Air, a LCC airline, registered in Denmark, flying out of STN and BHX to Spain and the USA has filed for bankruptcy.
A lot of passengers on both sides of the Atlantic stranded. Not having flown them myself, but my brother flew them last year. Nothing special from his reports. I hope no AFF'ers have been caught out

Passengers stranded as airline collapses

A friend who's coming to visit me from Canada almost booked on them. He decided not to because they had a reputation for being unreliable and were constantly cancelling flights etc. Good choice in the end!

I must say, I didn't really understand their business model. They were adding trans-Atlantic city pairs left right and centre, and there was no way they could possibly service all these routes reliably.

I looked at them for transatlantic last year - their 'premium' class - and A320 with 2+2 seating, 37 inch pitch or something, and basic meal was very expensive - USD800 or something one way. Compared to Norwegian's 787s with 45 inch pitch for USD549 it was hardly competitive.
