I see that QF are to introduce a Premium Economy cabin from February 2008 on some (possibly all) of the 744 and 380 aircraft. Seems to make perfect sense especially as codesharing with BA and their WT+ must have been a headache.

So far all there seems to be is one photo of the proposed seating, but some mention was made somewhere of a display at SYD - I think. Has anyone seen this? Is there anymore info around? When are they likely to add it to the reservations system?

Hey Peter,

Premium Economy will not be installed on all of the 747-400 aircraft, but will feature on all A380-800s.

Yes, as no aircraft yet features the new cabin, only computer generated images are available.

There will be an announcement within the next few weeks with regards to Premium Economy pricing etc. Stay tuned... ;)

You can see the new Y+ seats, revised SkyBed seats, new F suite and Y seats (basically the new A380 products) in addition to the refreshed Millennium and Economy domestic seats at the Qantas Heritage Collection at SYD Domestic QF Terminal T3. It's open MON-FRI between 9.30am and 16.30pm - click here for more info.

Cheers

Ahh - I was wondering where that was. I tried to find them in the QP when I was there last. Now just wondering if it would be practical to visit T3 before I do my flight to HKG in a couple of weeks...

Hi Wunala,

Thanks for the post. Will have to wait for more details. If they do introduce a product better than anything else in the air, it may be well worth considering. Just a bit more width and a bit more recline can make the difference between sleeping and not, though nothing beats flat.

I couldn't remember if this info had already been posted or not, but here goes:

Premium Economy will be rolled out on our B747-400 services to London via Bangkok, Singapore and Hong Kong, plus on services to Johannesburg from next February.
