For an August 2022 trip of about 15 days using ITA Matrix (ask Mattg - the world expert), PR has a J return fare of A$5727, less than half the equivalent QFi J return fare.
It operates MNL - JFK - MNL nonstop in each direction 3x weekly.
From 2 April 2022, PR runs MEL-MNL (and SYD - MNL) 5x weekly: the only day not served by either northbound is Thursday.
Surprisingly, it's returning to BNE with MNL-BNE - MNL 2x weekly (some flights continue on to or originate from Auckland, but by its public timetable, not every week).
My search was for a Tuesday departure ex MEL (five hours in MNL if travelling straight through) and a Wednesday ex JFK (a much longer 14 hours in MNL, but perhaps one could be given a free airport hotel under STPC if still provided by this airline, or book a nearby hotel such as close to Terminal 3 (which is not the PR terminal) or Mall of Asia shopping centre.
Oddly a fare ex SYD with PR didn't seem available but given connections are possible, a travel agent should be able to quote a fairly similar fare to the one ex MEL. Airport fees are usually a bit higher in SYD than MEL.
I've not looked up fare conditions but a stopover in MNL may be possible at minimal extra cost.
ITA Matrix claims that by August 2022 it'll use the A333 that is 1-2-1 in J, not the current A321s that are 2-2 (but also lie flat, unlike many other carriers with narrowbodies).
