These Philippine Airlines (PR) fares are quite good given that on the Manila to Sydney and Melbourne routes, the newly refurbished A333s allegedly commence in August and July 2017 respectively with seatback entertainment at every seat, new QF-type lie flat beds in business class, new premium economy class and one less seat across (eight rather than nine) in economy.

See its website for its 'Independence Day' seat sale.

Fares are from A$626 return to MNL from CNS, and either A$668 return from MEL or A$671 return from SYD in Y. PE fares are also fairly cheap (available only ex MEL and SYD) but business class doesn't seem to be any different from the ongoing 'promos' that this airline has.

As with competitors, it can be worth subscribing to PR's email updates as recently (in a first) it has had some excellent cheap return fares around the A$630 mark for MEL or SYD to CEB, an increasingly popular alternative entry point to Philippines given that it's closer to loads of terrific beaches, and avoids the Jakarta and Bangkok-like traffic in Metro Manila (mind you, Cebu City's traffic is not exactly congestion-free at busier times either.)
