I was doing some May bookings today and I noticed an interesting thing with the insurance option. I did five bookings as expected on the first one the insurance was selected for purchase. De-selected it, no worries. The thing is when I did the subsequent 4 bookings the insurance was de-selected, on the "no" option. All this while logged in, and I only had to log in once.

Anyway, I was wondering if this "no" would stick. Or if anyone else has noticed this as well.

I should mention that the fares for my direct bookings were also showing the correct amount $99 was $99 instead of the $100.99 that was showing when searching earlier today. At least that's been fixed.

Only did the one booking just then and it was selected. Would have been interesting to see if it was still selected - maybe I will check right now while I'm still logged in...
... back soon.

You are right!

Also had all my other details in there.

Will it last until my next booking I wonder.

Nice ... perhaps they have listened. Then again, perhaps it is a bug..

I was doing a booking today and as the page was loading it first appeared as unselected - thought oh good!

However when I went to pay I saw the cost had jumped??? Yep, the insurance was now selected - I know I did not do that.

Anyway, perhaps it's now going to appear "randomly" and they hope to trap a few more punters.

Funny you say that. For the first time in my Virgin career, I was caught out by the insurance scam.

I was sure it was unchecked but when the email came through, I'd bought the insurance.

The upside was that the cool-off claim back is relatively painless. That was only last week so I haven't checked to see if it's been returned to my CC account.

This exact thing happened to me yesterday.
