Points vs Points + pay website difficulty

Having some trouble with booking a seat with the points + pay option on the VA website. I have enough points accumulated to do the points part of the transaction and am wanting to pay the cash portion when the final payment screen comes up as it states will occur but because I don't have enough points all up for the seat to be paid WHOLEY in points, I can't select the seat: it tells me I don't have enough points.

How do I get around this ? Its an extra 16,000points that it is telling me I need to move past the first page, even though I won't be using them in the end as I will pay it in cash.

eg SYD to LA is 63000, or 47000 + $119.00(approx) and I have e.g. 52000 points. Thats enough for the points +cash option but as I don't have 63000 I can't purchase the seat??

Ring Virgin, I am sure they will have a solution. Perhaps you have to book via the phone.

Hi lissthree, we have tested this but can't seem to replicate the error you have identified. Could you please let me know the operating system and browser you're using to help us determine the cause of the issue?
