Points upgrades - whose Velocity account are they deducted from?

Ok, time for the dumb question of the week :)

Looking at booking some flexis with the current double SC offer - I will be doing the bookings so it will be under my name with hubby and I on the same PNR. If we're able to score points upgrades for both of us, would the total points come out of my Velocity account or would the relevant amount for each upgrade be deducted from our respective Velocity accounts? Doesn't bother me one way or the other, just want to make sure there's enough points in whichever account/s they'd come out of!
 
Very good question - have not done it myself and was thinking of doing so soon. But I presume that if one PNR and two pax then whomever logs into VFF or calls VFF on the phone to do the upgrades will have the points deducted from their VFF balance?

I am sure that someone whom has done this before will chime in and let us know! ;)
 
Agree , should be able to be down , either from both accounts or just one if you are on the same PNR .

Maybe with the caveat that the phone operator may possibly ask you for the pin number of your VFF account - so in the OP's case she would be smart to have permission of her husband and the pin number for his VFF account if she wants to use some of her husbands points for the upgrades.

I know this because I have sometimes done upgrades requests for myself from Y to J class with the Velocity Call centre and they have asked me for my own pin number to complete the point transaction/upgrade process. I don't think its a very smart/secure way to do things but as long as I call them and the VA web site cannot do it online then its the best we have got at the moment.

VA don't use pins for velocity?

My bad - that was QF I remember now! Velocity/VA do ask for address/email and DOB now I come to think of it. :oops:

So the OP may need her husbands VFF no, DOB, email address etc etc if she wants to use his points to upgrade on the phone. Sorry to the OP for any confusion.

Thanks for the replies everyone, I'll ask the GCC to deduct them from my account.

It wouldn't be a problem whichever account they wanted to deduct them from - seeing as I'm usually the one who does all the flight bookings and deals with stuff such as chasing up missing SCs and points etc for both of us, hubby made me an authorised representative on his VFF account a while ago so I have full access to it and can conduct transactions on the account on his behalf.
